New provider for adult dermatology services – what you need to know

From 19th January 2026, there is a new provider for all routine and urgent adult dermatology services in mid and south Essex - CHEC.

In addition, from 1st February 2026, CHEC will begin accepting referrals for urgent suspected cancer.

The new service brings together all adult dermatology referrals in mid and south Essex into one place. This will improve your access to services and information and reduce waiting times for care.

All adult community dermatology referrals from our GP practice will go through CHEC for triage, assessment, or onward referral where necessary. This will ensure patients are seen by the right clinician, at the right time, and in the right place.
