    COVID Vaccinations

The Puzey Practice has started calling our highest risk over 80 year old patients to book for their Pfizer Covid Vaccine at The Puzey Practice. The Puzey Practice is approved as a ‘designated site’ (base) to deliver the Covid vaccines for all eligible within the Rochford Primary Care Network. “All 3 Covid vaccines approved are extremely safe and effective at preventing people falling seriously ill and dying of Covid. It does NOT stop people from getting Covid or passing it on. The need to carry on with ‘hands, face, space’ and minimising mixing MUST continue.” It’s significant protection occurs 14 days after the first dose (hence the decision to delay the second dose to increase uptake). Longer immunity will be provided only after the second dose which will be booked in 1 1 – 12 weeks after the first. You must attend the same site and receive the same brand of vaccine. PLEASE DO NOT ASHINGDON MEDICAL CENTRE asking about when your appointment will be. Please be reassured THE PUZEY PRACTICE WILL BE CALLING OUR PATIENTS to offer the vaccine and actively book patients in. Do however, email or call us if you are a carer and not currently recorded as such. We will continue to keep you updated with our progress so please watch this space!
